Erie Insurance Plans "Take Our Kids To Work" Day

Erie, Pa. -- April 15, 1997 -- Erie Insurance has invited employees to bring their kids to work on April 24, 1997.

ERIE's "Take Our Kids to Work Day" puts a slightly different spin on the Ms. Foundation for Women's "Take Our Daughter's to Work Day," which has been celebrated by many companies nationally for the past five years. The ERIE is inviting employees to bring both daughters and sons to work and see first hand how their moms and dads contribute to one of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America.

"Because of the unique kinship our employees enjoy, we have long considered ourselves 'the ERIE family,'" noted Steve Milne, ERIE's President and Chief Executive Office. "Planning a day such as this helps us share that spirit with the children we consider members of our extended family."

Each of the ERIE's 20 field offices is participating in "Take Our Kids to Work Day." The Company's Home Office in Erie, Pennsylvania is planning a full day of activities. After being welcomed by Mr. Milne the young guests will hear about career opportunities in insurance, then take an exercise break as part of ERIE's employee wellness program. They will also participate in workshops on insurance fraud, how insurance works, listening skills and team building. After lunch children will be invited to spend time on the job with mom or dad.
